The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has invited proposals for Center of Excellence (CoE) grants. Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) has taken the initiative of this project implemented in Pakistan by HEC and supported by the World Bank.
The Commission is inviting proposals from interested candidates in multiple disciplines. The purpose of awarding this grant is to support the quality of impact-oriented research with a clear vision to address the socio-economic and environmental challenges of the country.
The HEC subject experts and HEDP team will provide technical assistance, monitoring, and evaluation of Center of Excellence Proposals. The concerned authorities will align the proposals with the national needs and challenges and ensure the outcome and impact of the grants for the betterment and development of Pakistan.
Eligibility Criteria
The CoE grants are open to all Centers of Excellence; however, consortium-based multidisciplinary proposals with sectoral governmental departments will be advantageous.
The project’s lead will be the Director/Head of the Center of Excellence. The other faculty members of the center as team members will remain intact. Still, the director will be responsible for integrating the project’s outcome into the center’s strategic direction and uplift.
Funding Amount
The budget of the CoE grants may range from the minimum of PKR 50 million to the maximum limit of PKR.157 million. The maximum duration for the CoE grants announced by HEC is three years.
The candidates have to meet the mentioned criteria to secure the grant.
