The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) in Islamabad has introduced adjusted school and college timings for both urban and rural areas in response to the recent temperature drop following rainfall. The new timings took effect on October 16.

As per the official notification from the FDE, single-shift institutions will now be open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, with an earlier closure at 12:30 pm on Fridays.
Double-shift institutions in the federal capital will see the morning shift operate from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, concluding at 12:30 pm on Fridays. The evening shift will run from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, and the second shift will commence at 2:30 pm on Fridays.
Postgraduate colleges will have two possible schedules, running from 8:30 am to either 2:00 pm or 4:00 pm.
It’s worth noting that these changes in school timings have been prompted by the cooler weather conditions due to recent rains. Similar adjustments in school schedules are expected in other regions across the country as temperatures are projected to continue dropping.
